Manuals Are REALLY Important

Manuals are really important!!! Yes, I repeated myself because I cannot emphasize how important that is.

I dont know if God gave me another chance or its fate but ever since jh got the Nikon D5000 (that DSLR is so cool with those features [video, screen that can be turned, liveview(!!)] that my camera doesnt have), I learnt the importance of manuals or guide books.

Ever since I got my D40x, I didn't bother to read the manual at all. I had the mindset that its easy to use like the normal digital cameras. All I had to do was try and error, play around with it. But the other problem was I didn't even bother to play with it either. I remembered leaving the camera there untouched for a period of time..

But the fact that I know nothing about my camera sank into me after I brought it out and people who used them started asking me where is this function or how to change this and that. I was dumbfounded, like seriously.

I continued to be like this until jh asked me this and that, told me this and that... I was like "what is that" or "huh?!" or gave wrong answers and even said "dont need to read one lahz! so easy". :/

I decided to take my manual out and read.! It was then I realised I didnt know this and that about my camera, I realised I didnt noticed that something was actually there all along, I realised I didnt know the shortcuts, and the I-realised-I-didnt-know list goes on.

I have 'photography' as one of my interest but I actually never bother to read on it, find out more about it, and everything. If that's the case, its just an empty nutshell interest... isnt it??

But, the feeling I had after reading the manual and trying it out on my camera is so interesting~ Like what jh said, if I can master my own camera well, its also equivalent to mastering all the other Nikon DSLR. It was wrong of me to 嫌弃 my own camera just because other people cameras are better than mine. I always say that I hate people who 喜新厌旧 but I seemed to be doing that too... :/

Whatever is it, I look forward to realise and explore more about my camera as I read on. (:

And I hope I learnt my lesson too.!!
